CHOCOLATE from Too

| Another new
video. I love doing this! The melodic tones of this
Champaign - Urbana trio in the early '90s recorded live at
the Channing-Murray Foundation on the University of
Illinois campus. The group consisted of long time friends
Mary Ray, Kathi Murphy and Brenda Scearcy. |

| As I update
this site, I discover pages in the archives that missed
the transition due to one problem or another. My tribute
to those who have played their last gig here on this soil
has been partially updated and back in service. More will
be added from pages already begun and, sadly, as we loose
more to the inevitable end we all will face. No doom and
gloom... just celebrating life. |

St Louis Local Bands Group

|
|
| I am
just getting started responding to the tribute and honor bestowed upon me by this group.
Admittedly the oldest member, I hope to share some of my thoughts and experience as
questions arise. I also look forward to learning and gaining new insight into
the music scene today, especially in the greater St. Louis area.

Arlie
Neaville Live At Lincoln Square, Urbana, IL - Dec 05, '08

|
| I work a
lot with video, both professionally and personally. It's not
unusual for me to have a camera with me as I go about my day. I
look for opportunities to capture people, places and things for
specific projects or to add to my stock footage. Here is such an occasion.
|
|
| This was recorded Sunday, September 7,
2008 at Lincoln Square Village Mall in Urbana, IL as Arlie and friends
played their weekly gospel sing in the center food court.
He and his guests have played 76
afternoon performances in the last two years. That's two
and a half 'months of Sundays' as I figure it.
Gospel Cannonball is a revised version
of the traditional folk song about a fictional train of
the late 1800s.. |
|

|
|
|
| The train was
shot headed east out of Philo, Illinois on a sunny summer day
about three years ago. I'm glad I had my own stock footage to use
here.

Got
Shoes? (Sep 25, '08) Read

|
| Today I experienced an old saying meeting up with
real life. While
taking a cell call outside our local Best Buy, I noticed a guy
about my age and stature walking at a slow but deliberate pace
towards the entrance. It was warm and he was wearing baggy shorts,
another slight comparison to myself. In my recent battle with
cancer, I had lost a lot of weight and all my clothes are baggy.
His face looked determined. |

Spring Cleaning In
The Fall (Sep 30, '08) Read

|
| Stuff is great. I love my stuff and am never comfortable when I am
away from it for any length of time. The problem of 'stuff' is
like many other things ... definition. Micro-stuff finds it's way
into regular stuff, grows to miniature stuff and begins
to resemble real stuff. Then it fills your storage space. Shelves
fill, closets bulge, cars no longer fit in the garage and you pay
begin paying hefty fees to now fill a storage locker. |

He Learned From His
Mistake (Sep 22, '1985) Read
More
|
|
| I pride myself
in the fact that I make a given mistake only once. Well,
at least usually. It was nearly 20 years ago when a few of
my friends dropped by to ask me to join their caravan of
hand-painted VW micro buses to an up-state New York
gathering of artists, musicians and other crafty people.
It sounded like a long trip for something that would never
amount to anything, so I replied with a list of excuses
about cleaning the garage, mowing the lawn and other
trusty standbys saved for just such an occasion. |
