| Robin... and REO Speedwagon |
|
Visited a local big box electronics store and wandered through wonderfully huge flat panel tv screens. I must have shown the 'deer in the headlights 'look and was approached by a young woman named Robin. She appraised my needs and guided me through the nuances of how to make those purchase decisions. | Arlie Neaville singing about the love of Jesus at 73 |
|
Arlie Neaville was one of the first great Rockabilly artists that helped to create original sounds that bridged the gap from the music of the early fifties to rock & roll. Three decades ago he committed his life and music to Jesus and hasn't stopped yet, even at the age of 73. (June 08, 2010) |

| Researching Geneology of the Ierardi Family |
|
My grandfather was Antonio F. Ierardi, born 1880. I believe he was from Corleto Perticara in souther Italy. He married Giovanna Murolo, born 1892 who was from the Isle of Capri. He had a younger sister, Louise and at least three brothers; Pat, Raymond and Mario. They settled in Masachusettes then moved to North Grosvenordale, Connecticut. If you have any information on them, please contact me. (Oct 17, 2009) More... |

| Developer Of Solid Body Guitar Dies At 94 |
|
When I bought my first Les Paul guitar I wasn't fully aware of who he was. I bought the guitar because it was great looking and felt even better. The neck was incredibly long and the action so low and fast. I was all about playing fast licks. I wanted to be a lead guitar player! (Aug 13, 2009) More... |

| This Guy's Does A Great Tribute To Les Paul |
|
This is the first guy I've seen that plays a tribute to our beloved Les Paul... and does it live much the same way Les did using tracks. Of course, we understand how it's done being tech savy but if you think it's easy, just give it a try. My kudos to Jack Marlin, my kind of guitarist! More About Jack |

| Yet Another Guitarist Succumbs To Cancer |
|
| My dream of being a real lead guitarist was made possible by Bob Bogle of the Ventures. Yeah, me and a hundred thousand others! Walk don't Run, Perfidia and Caravan probably got me my first paid club gig. In the very early sixties, lead players were scarce in central Illinois. More About Bob |

| Kenny Rankin Passes Away From Cancer |
|
A 2am radio news break announced the death of Kenny. I paused to
remember my brush with this great talent. It was late '75 I think. I was ready to
go on stage, the last act at 'Hoot Night', The Backdoor at San Diego State
University. Walt, the guy who ran the show, said a friend had dropped by and
asked if could he go next. I agreed. "He has no guitar. Can he use your's?"

| Questions Arise About My Guitars |
|
A few emails heve prompted me to track down old photos and offer some info on the guitars I've had the pleasure of playing over the years. I'll add to this guitar page as I discover photos and write alittle about them and amplifiers as well. I'm pleased to share this with anyone who appreciates them. About My Guitars |

| Indiana Beach at Lake Shafer Opens Soon - Mar 15, '09 |
|
It's almost Spring as I've touted for weeks now. This is the time when we begin to think and plan for a summer vacation. If money is short, don't worry, be happy. Nearby Indiana Beach at Monticello, Indiana offers a fantastic, affordable, fun filled and action packed weekend around. I'm partial as I played guitar in the house band when I was just sixteen. What fun! Indiana Beach is cool and now greater than ever. More Info |

| Chanute Aerospace
Museum Film Project - Feb 09, '09 |
|
Chanute AFB closed in '93.
The Chanute Aero- space museum began to preserve the
history, memories and artifacts. Among larger items,
buildings and aircraft, I found cans of 16mm films while
filming for a video. These unmarked reels left me curious
as to what they contained. Soon I departed for five years
in New York. Now returned, I recently inquired as to the status of those
forgotten reels. This project is the result of that question.

| News Flash - Ground Hog Day
Predicts More Winter - Feb 02, '09 |
|
| February 2nd and insane machinations of
weather prognostication beset us. The movie Ground Hog Day loops
endlessly on cable TV, ironic, as it portrays mindless repetition.
Its winter, its cold, dark and gray. I expect
such. I know spring is right around the corner. Tthat
corner is just six weeks away. Spring arrives March 20th, the Vernal Equinox when the length of day and night are
equal. |

| Remembering The
Beatles Last Performance - Jan 30, '09 |
|
| Twenty years ago, people
sang, "It was twenty years ago today" referring
to the Beatles last public performance. (Hidden math
message) Forty years now, two are gone and two
remain.
Londoners weren't aware this was their swan song played
on the roof of Abbey Road Studios. John spoke what could
be the epitaph for the four from working- class Liverpool: “I’d like to say thank you on behalf of the group and ourselves, and I hope we passed the audition.” |

| Old cars, sad
memories and renewed hope - Jan 07, '09 |
|
| I drove a ‘54 Chevy in high school
and liked
the styling, especially the grille, tail lights and dash- board. A lot of chrome but not too much.
It was named 'Hungry Al'. While looking at old cars on
eBay, I realized today was January
7th, the 45th anniversary of my father’s death. I felt a warmth cover me as I
paused and a memory emerged. It was of the day we bought my
’54 together at a junk yard on South Neil St.
"Thanks, Dad!" |

| January 1st rolls
out my Area 217 project - Jan 01, '09 |
|
I've had an idea for quite
sometime to build a web site that promotes the greatness
of central Illinois. There is much that goes unnoticed and
I'd like to tell you about it. The real purpose is to
promote local business. The world's a click away but most
of my needs are local. Please visit my new startup.
